Wed 2 Nov 2016 In: International News View at Wayback View at NDHA

The man who was caught filling a lube dispenser with hydrochloric acid at a gay sex club in Sydney, has avoided jail time.   62-year-old Hengky Irawan faced charges of administering poison intending to injure or cause distress or pain, malicious damage, entering a building with intent to commit an indictable offence and driving while suspended. Irawan’s lawyer applied to have his charges dealt with under the Mental Health Act and this was backed by reports from two medical professional that stated Irawan suffers from a mental illness. The court ruled that his actions were not a hate-crime and that he acted out of anger after being kicked out of the club earlier in the year. He was released on a two year good behaviour bond.
