A gay couple has been named as two of the victims of the tragedy that occurred yesterday at Dreamworld in Australia. The couple, Luke Dorsett and Roozi Argahi were among four people who were killed on the Thunder River Rapids Ride when the raft they were on flipped. Dorsett’s sister was also killed in the incident. A number of years ago Argahi was a contributing music writer for Australia’s LGBTI news outlet SameSame. The couple were holidaying on the Gold Coast at the time of the incident and are from Canberra where there is said to be a very small gay community who knew them well. Dreamworld is closed until further notice and the theme park has replaced their website with a statement reading “Dreamworld is currently closed until further notice due to an incident at the park. We are deeply shocked and saddened by the incident; our hearts and thoughts go out to the families involved and their loved ones.”
