LGBTI related web series’ have racked up the nominations at the NZ Web Fest, with at least four series up for awards. Lesbian webseries Pot luck is up for a Special Interest Award Competing for Best Web Series is Auckward Love, co-written by Emmett Skilton and Jess Sayer, the web series. which launched in November, features the story of a 20-something single lesbian. Also up for the same award is Krd Stories, a ten story series which features the episode Aroha, a universal love story set on Auckland’s legendary strip, starring Ramon Te Wake. Up for the Special Interest Award is New Zealand’s first lesbian web series Pot Luck and Two Naked Gay Guys. Serving up contemporary lesbian life on the little screen, Pot Luck follows the stories of your new favourite characters Debs, Mel and Beth, as they negotiate friendship, family, and finding love at their weekly Pot Luck dinners. Two Naked Gay Guys is a comedy web-series, following two gay guys who meet up for a one-off no strings attacked hook-up, only to find that one time isn’t enough and is written by filmmaker Conan McKegg. Fourteen judges are currently viewing and voting for their favourites and the NZ Web Fest will run Saturday 19 November at Media Design School in Auckland.
