The largest attended bear dance party in the US is once again coming to Auckland this Saturday after a four year hiatus. The extremely successful Bearracuda is the most prolific gay dance event in the US and with event in over 55 cities around the world, is coming back to New Zealand for the fourth time. Expect a great mix of funky disco, house and tech house, hot guys and of course, a few surprises thrown in - if this is your scene, you won’t want to miss Saturday night’s party. Hosted at Galatos, organiser Matt Bearracuda says Auckland holds a special place in his heart. “I have always loved New Zealand since my first visit there a dozen years ago. After Bearracuda started expanding to new cities in 2009, I got a message from Grant at Urge Bar about possibly coming over to Auckland sometime. “It wasn’t financially possible at the time he mentioned it, but we ended up working out details a year later and tagging on a party in Sydney as well. Auckland was our first event outside of North America, now we’ve been in 12 countries!” He’s promising “a packed house with plenty of hot men, smiling faces and good times.” Making his New Zealand debut, Australia’s in demand DJ, Mike Fairbanks aka dj mikeyb from Brisbane will be spinning alongside Urge legend James Leuii. Fairbanks says “I have only been to Auckland once to party myself a few years back. I know the crowd will be up and ready to party. I found you Kiwi lads to be very friendly and a fun crowd that loves to dance having partied with many of you all over the world. “So party hard and safe.” Get your ticket at iticket or Marcellos cafe. - 12th October 2016
