The Legacy Project is back for its forth year and submissions are now open. A theatre development project established to provide a platform for emerging writers to tell the stories of the LGBTI communities, the Legacy Project are looking for emerging or established writers wishing to be part of this year’s programme. Writers are asked to submit their scripts, from which six will be shortlisted and workshopped during a development weekend in mid-November before hitting the stage during next year’s Auckland Pride Festival. Inspiring directors are also asked to apply as the team is looking for assistance in developing the new works before ultimately casting and staging the stories. Anyone and everyone is welcome to apply regardless of gender or sexual orientation and submissions are open until Friday 28 October. For more information and to apply, check out the Legacy Project website.
