The Cartier Bereavement Trust is to be officially renamed the Cartier Trust, to better reflect the work that is done by the group. Still to be be finalised with a lawyer, the name change was announced at Saturday night’s annual Trust fundraising event, Wigarama. The trust will be expanding the work it does with the community and Founder Karen Richie says “We will be looking at things to work with the community probably on a case by case basis.” Richie says she has spoken to Peter Saxton as the trust will be commissioning research in the future. “We are getting a lot of new HIV diagnoses,” she says. “It would be good to see why and what the thinking is with the young ones today, and really, anybody today, and I know there is complacency there.”
