Dogs and owners socialise for Hamilton Pride

Sun 11 Sep 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Millie, aka Lady Millicent, and Scott Around a dozen dogs and their doting owners gathered at the Hamilton Lake Domain this morning in one of the more informal events which make up Hamilton Pride Week. Dogs with names ranging from Baby to Lady Millicent headed around the lake-side walkway in what Lady Millicent's owner's partner, Scott, says was a last-minute decision to get out in the brilliantly fine and warm weather "and let the dogs socialise together." The event lasted around an hour and a half with several families attending from the more rural parts of the Waikato. The dogs ranged in size from chihuahuas to sheep-dog sized, and in pedigree from grizzled mutts to an elegant American cocker spaniel. Hamilton Pride events continue through the week with movie and poetry nights, body, HIV and arse workshops and a $40 a ticket Glam! evening on Friday night.
