One of the country’s longest-serving openly gay politicians is retiring from local government after serving the community for nine years.   Maungakiekie-Tamaki Local Board Chair Simon Randall is stepping down from his role and will not be seeking re-election this October. One of the country’s longest-serving openly gay politicians, Randall is a staunch LGBTI advocate and has spoken out about issues such as homelessness. The former NZAF Chair currently is the Board lead for the Community leases, Libraries and Strategy and finance portfolios.
