Many of the 49 victims of the Pulse gay nightclub massacre in Orlando were shot from a distance, with more than a third shot in the head and all but two were shot multiple times. Bodies are removed from Pulse after the massacre The information has been released by Miami medical examiners and is said by independent experts to show that the gunman, who had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist organisation, was carefully targeting his victims rather than shooting randomly or indiscriminately. One man was shot ten times, another victim thirteen times. More that 200 rounds were fired during the three-hour siege. It is not yet known if any of the victims died due to 'friendly fire' when law enforcement authorities broke down a wall and engaged in a gunfight with the killer who apparently died in a hail of bullets. Meanwhile, a number of survivors are questioning the appropriateness of the gunman's anti-gay father, who traveled to Orlando to attend a recent Hillary Clinton campaign rally, being seated behind and near-centre of the podium where he was frequently viewed behind the candidate.
