Thu 4 Aug 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The short film telling the story of a gay New Zealand World War Two solider is in the running to be named Project of the Month on the leading independent film site, IndieWire. Welby Ings’ newest project Sparrow is currently second in the running for the top spot which would earn the short film a feature interview on the website and a nomination for Project of the Year. Last year’s Project of the Year winner was awarded a spot at Tribeca Film Institute’s Filmmaker and Industry Meetings and a brand new camera. Project of the Month is decided by the public so you can help Sparrow on it’s way to the top by putting your vote in before Tuesday 9th. You can also support Welby Ings by donating to the Boosted campaign. Currently at 104% of its target, the team have secured funding for post-production on Sparrow and all extra funds will go towards Ings’ feature film.
