Wellington events raise over $1k for Orlando victims

Mon 25 Jul 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Two fundraising events held over the weekend in Wellington have raised over $1000 for the victims of Orlando mass shooting.   Around 60 people attended the variety show performances held at Fringe Bar on Saturday and Sunday. The crowds were treated to a wide range of performances by poets, singers, dancers and comedians, including a performance by burlesque performer Fanciforia Foxglove. Organiser Duncan Hope says "Over the course of the two events, we raised over $1,000 for the victims, families, and everybody affected by the Orlando shooting last month. “Green Party MP Jan Logie and community leader Jac Lynch both won a piece of cover art from the upcoming LGBT friendly children's book, Promised Land, which was signed by the co-authors and illustrator. “Thank you to everybody who came along to the events and made them such a success.”
