Trump scores a first by mentioning glbti people

Sat 23 Jul 2016 In: International News View at Wayback

Bombastic and controversial American businessman turned politician Donald Trump has become the first ever Republican presidency candidate to mention glbti people in a convention speech. Trump, who has in the past consistently opposed marriage equality for same-sex couples and whose party opposes marriage equality and the ability of transgender people to use gender-appropriate toilets, said he would protect glbti people from the 'violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology." Trump has made much during his campaign of refusing Muslim people entry to the USA and has even said he will expel them. In another rare moment at the Republican National Convention at which Trump was declared the party's official candidate, a gay billionaire, Peter Thiel, advised the audience he is gay, that he supports Trump and told the crowd that which toilets people use should not be an issuer and is one of the matters distracting the Republican party from the real issues which directly affect the economy and people's lives.
