QN presenter revealed as Hoskings' stalker

Sun 11 May 2003 In: New Zealand Daily News

Queer Nation presenter Jonathan Marshall has been taken to task for paparazzi-like stalking of TV1 current affairs presenter Mike Hoskings. Hoskings at one point called police after being followed by Marshall, who says he was following up a photographic assignment he committed to before joining the Queer nation team for the current season. He has in the past sold paparazzi photos to New idea magazine. TVNZ says it is investigating marshall's activities, and it is understood he risks being fired from Queer Nation, New Zealand's gay and lesbian lifestyle programme which is screened by TVNZ on TV2. Hoskings is publicly antagonistic to paparazzi intrusions into his life. Marshall says he will apologise to Hoskings, not for “stalking” but for conflict of interest, given each man's role as a TV presenter. He says in retrospective his method of photographing his subjects might appear unethical.
