Fri 15 Jul 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Phylesha Brown-Acton and Shirley Allan have announced they are stepping down from their positions on the Auckland Pride Festival Board. Co-chair Kirsten Sibbit says “We are extremely sad to lose Phylesha and Shirley from the Board. Both have contributed a great deal to the development of the Festival and to ensuring that Pride enhances the wellbeing of the communities that it supports. Phylesha was a hugely valuable voice to have around the Board table and we’ll miss her presence and perspective. Shirley brought a great energy with her and had such a strong ability to engage with our communities.” In February the Board farewelled Paul Patton and Vinnie Sykes who stepped down as Co-Chair of the Board, wishing to focus his energy on supporting his husband, who is facing ongoing health problems. The Auckland Pride Board is comprised of seven members and remaining members include; Kirsten Sibbit, Richard James, Zakk d’Larté, James Bennett and Julie Swift. The Board is currently seeking interest for a number of positions including Board Members, Sub-committee members and Board Assistants. To apply for any of these roles and for more information please email chair@aucklandpridefestival.org.nz with a cover letter outlining why you would like to be involved and short CV by no later than 29th July, 2016.
