HLR activist and strategist Bill Logan will be a guest speaker at Christchurch’s upcoming Homosexual Law Reform anniversary celebration. Logan was barred from speaking the the Parliamentary function launching the Wellington Pride Festival and was ‘dis-invited’ from the Pride Picnic at Parliament in March. In May 2015 the long-time gay equality campaigner and Wellington-based counsellor was censured by the NZ Association of Counsellors for what it calls "professional misconduct and/or conduct unbecoming a member of NZAC." Logan was present at the Auckland Rainbow Gala event that was held on Saturday, the anniversary of the Homosexual Law Reform’s Bill passing in Parliament. The Christchurch Homosexual Law Reform Dinner and Dance is taking place at the Rydges Hotel on Friday, 29 July.
