Chelsea Manning Lawyers for transgender US soldier Chelsea Manning say they are being denied contact with their client after she was briefly hospitalised two days ago. in 2013 Manning was convicted on espionage charges after leaking over 700,000 classified military documents to Wikileaks. She is serving a 35-year sentence at a military prison in Kansas. Her lawyers have accused the army of leaking personal information about Manning to the media. Last year she was found guilty of violating jail rules relating to having a copy of the Caitlyn Jenner of Vanity Fair and an expired tube of toothpaste. The military are refusing her permission to grow her hair long, saying it would be a security concern. However, they have granted her access to hormone therapy, female undergarments and cosmetics in conjunction with medically-prescribed treatments for gender dysphoria.
