Two policemen propose at London Pride parade

Mon 27 Jun 2016 In: International News View at Wayback

Two Policemen proposed to their partners during the London Pride Parade yesterday, stopping the parade to publicly ask their partners for their hand in marriage.   Two police officers, both marching in the parade, were one of the couples who got engaged and another uniformed officer proposed to his partner who was standing in the crowd. The Metropolitan Police’s LGBTI network tweeted photos of the happy couples and have been receiving reply tweets from trolls who are calling the engagement’s “sick” and “evil”. The response from the MET Police LGBTI network was on point and reads; “Sad to see grossly offensive homophobic trolling about our #marriageproposal but don’t worry we’re the police so we’ll be taking action.” The London Pride Parade had a large police presence following the mass shooting at a gay nightclub in Orlando which killed 49 people and injured 53 more.
