Michael Barrymore, the gay UK TV entertainer whose life has been plagued by controversy since the discovery of a dead man in his swimming pool, will tour New Zealand in May. "I am really looking forward to meeting up again with my fans, especially those who have stuck by me through thick and thin” says Barrymore who has been dropped by British TV companies since the incident. In the midst of the controversy he retreated to a Christchurch substance-abuse clinic. "He loves New Zealand and he'd love to think about a future here,” says Tour promoter Gray Bartlett.
