A man has been arrested for the murder of Bangladeshi  LGBTI magazine editor Xulhaz Mannan, who was murdered late last month. Image: AP A leading advocate for LGBTI rights, Mannan was hacked to death alongside his friend Tanay Mojumdar at Mannan’s apartment. Police have arrested one of the men suspected to have carried out the murder, Islamic militant Shariful Islam Shihab. Shihab is a former member of the Islamic group Harkatul Jihad, a group that is banned in Bangladesh. Monirul Islam, chief of Dhaka’s counterterrorism unit told the BBC that police were checking if Shihab was visible on the footage of the crime.
