Canterbury LGBTI youth organisation Q-topia has announced the date for its Annual General Meeting. The social support organisation runs five groups for LGBTI youth and advocates for young people exploring their gender and/or sexuality. “The board will be responsible for governance of Q-topia including the employment of three staff, strategic planning, and financial control, ensuring the smooth running of our awesome organisation” the organisation says. “We are looking for people with skills in finance, strategic planning, youth development knowledge and a strong understanding of the wider Canterbury rainbow community.” The AGM will be MC’d by local spoken word poet and national slam poetry champion Sophie Rea and will have games, food and prizes. Q-topia is the regional provider of the Rainbow Youth InsideOut Education Programme and has 12 educators, providing diversity education to schools, organisations working with young people and professional organisations wanting to up-skill or improve services to clients.
