Gay couple, David and Nicky Beard are desperately searching for a way to bring their three newborn babies home to New Zealand from Mexico after extra costs following the premature birth of one of their children has left them stuck in the Northern Hemisphere. A Give a Little crowdfunding page was set up on Sunday by a friend of the couple, Grace Nixon, in the hopes to help out with the costs of bringing the babies back to New Zealand. The couple went through an adoption agency in Cancun, however they say that the agency took off with the money they were sending for costs such as medical and legal bills. The woman who ran the agency was once an employee of the North American surrogacy agency the couple went through, but she has disappeared and they have been unable to track her down. Nixon felt crowdfunding would be the best way to help her friends in this situation, “They have been getting great support from family and friends but we can only help so much,” she writes on the page. “We now hope that with your help they can move things along and get their beautiful new family home to the safety of New Zealand.” Almost $10,000 has been raised in four days towards the cost of the debt the couple are in and the costs involved with bringing the triplings home. Gaynz.com Daily News has tried to reach the couple for comment however they are not responding to media requests.
