Donations to get LGBTI resource printed still needed

Fri 18 Mar 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback View at NDHA

InsideOUT are raising funds to have LGBTI supportive resources sent to all schools across the country.   Disappointed with the latest attack on LGBTI youth from, Family First, InsideOUT are taking it upon themselves to distribute a LGBTI positive guide for schools and students, counteracting the unsupportive documents sent out by the conservative lobby group. So far with the support of the LGBTI community, InsideOUT have raised $840 towards the resource and donations have come from 31 different people. InsideOUT have set a target of raising $1000 which will allow them to send a resource out to every secondary school in the country but this will limit them to only one resource per school. “If we reach $1000 we can guarantee one copy being posted to every secondary school in New Zealand which would be awesome, although ideally we would be able to send several copies to each school” says National Coordinator, Tabby Besley. “We would also love to be able to get it out to primary, intermediate and tertiary institutions in the future too. So the more we can raise, the better and the further it can spread, but we'll do as much as we can with what we've got!” Besley says the feedback has been really positive and the community is excited to know that there will be a resource going out to support schools to create inclusive environments for trans and gender diverse students. To help InsideOUT get their LGBTI positive resources to all schools in the country, visit their Givealittle page and click donate.
