Weather postpones Pride Picnic at Parliament

Tue 8 Mar 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Bad weather has forced the postponement of today's Pride Picnic at Parliament, an event aimed at celebrating the introduction of the Homosexual Law reform Bill to Parliament on this day in 1985. The picnic, which organiser Jac Lynch describes as a lunchtime informal gathering and celebration, will now be held on the grounds of Parliament tomorrow between noon and 2pm. All are welcome and the theme is Rainbow Pride "so feel free to be colourful." Based on the annual Out in the Park event, previously Out in the Square, Wellington Pride has this year grown into a wide range of events with marking thirty years of Homosexual Law reform a theme of many individual events. Pride Picnic at Parliament is supported by the Wellington Pride festival and Out@PSA.
