No pride in Prisons have made allegations that Police caused injury to three protesters during the Auckland Pride Parade on Saturday.   Photo by Andrea The collective say that no protesters from the No Pride in Prisons group were arrested on Saturday however say some of the protesters were assaulted by Police and parade-goers. “One protester’s thumb was broken by a police officer,” say the group. “Two others were briefly choked by police officers. For the most part, however, the protesters are mostly just scraped and bruised.” NPIP say the Police did not offer to meet with them prior to the parade and they had always intended on protesting at the parade itself, despite only publicly revealing that they would hold a boycott rally on the same day.
