Manchester United to play gay football team

Sat 13 Feb 2016 In: International News View at Wayback View at NDHA

Manchester United will play against the UK’s top gay football team in a groundbreaking match. Gay football club, Stonewall FC is due to mark its 25th anniversary this year and will play against the one of the most famous Premier League teams to celebrate. With no openly gay football players in the Premiership, the friendly match is a chance to put the issue in the spotlight. Announced at the Team Pride: Levelling the LGBT Playing Field event, Manchester United’s Managing Director Richard Arnold confirmed the Stonewall FC team will be welcomed to the Aon Training Complex ground for the match against Manchester United veterans and staff.
