French man facing prison for anti-gay tweets

A French man is having prison time for tweeting an anti-gay death threat to the openly gay deputy mayor of Paris.   The 31 year-old man, Tarek Laboun, is accused of posting three tweets targeting the Paris official when he married is partner in 2013. Laboun has denied he posted the tweets, saying he thinks they are “unacceptable”. The tweets were posted from Laboun’s fathers computer, in the home that he was living in at the time. He is facing up to five years jail time and a $125,800 fine for the “death threat”.
