Trevor Easton, General Manager of OUTLine has spoken out against the upcoming international meeting of a pro-rape, homophobic group but says New Zealand shouldn’t be giving them so much media coverage. “It still amazes me that in 2016 there are still some men that are so insecure about their masculinity and sexuality that they have to beat their chest so much and act like stupid little 5 year old boys,” says Easton. Controversial “pick-up artist” and blogger, Daryush Valizadeh, who runs the “neomasculinity” group for like-minded men, is hosting the international meet-up day, which includes meetings here in New Zealand. The meetings advertised state gay men, trans men and women are not allowed. Easton says; “I feel very sorry for them that they are missing out on so much of their own personalities. It does shock me about their rape views. I do think we shouldn’t give them so much media coverage as all that does is make them feel they are right.”
