Fri 29 Jan 2016 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The capital is gearing up for a celebratory couple of months and things kick off next Friday with the launch of the Wellington Pride Festival programme. The night will be a teaser of the upcoming festival week, with performers giving you a taste of what to expect in March followed by music and dancing of course. One event not to miss will be the second annual Wellington Pride Parade, this year starting in Frank Kitts Park and ending at the fair in Waitangi Park. Festival organisers say this year’s mission statement is that “the Parade is an eclectic community adding excitement to the tapestry and history of our collective family. Paying acknowledgement to our past our present and our future.” The Wellington Pride Festival | Tū whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-a-Tara Programme Launch Friday 5 February Ivy Bar / Wellington 8pm
