Registrations for Auckland’s Proud to Play sports festival close this Sunday, so get in quick if you were thinking about trying your hand at one of the fifteen sports offered. Event organiser Craig Watson says Sunday will be a big and important day as they come to terms with the actual size and scope of the event they have created. He says that it’s not until all registrations are in and counted, that you really know how successful an event is going to be, what your dealing with and if preparations are sufficient. Registered participants so far are coming from as far away as Cambodia, Germany, America, and Australia to compete. The inaugural Proud to Play NZ sports tournament stepped in to replace the collapsed effort to run the international Outgames event in Auckland late last year. Check out the Proud to Play website to register.
