The US Episcopal Church is standing strong with it’s decision to support same-sex marriage. Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry. The Church, which was has been barred from making any decisions in the Anglican Communion for three years, ordained an openly gay bishop in 2003. The Presiding Bishop, Michael Curry has confirmed that the Church will not be making any changes regarding it’s stance on same-sex marriage. Last year the General Convention - the top Episcopal legislative body - vote overwhelmingly to allow same-sex marriage ceremonies to take place in the Church. Curry told the Associated Press, ”We are loyal members of the Anglican Communion, but we need to say we must find a better way. I really believe it's part of our vocation.” The Episcopal Church represents the Anglican fellowship in the United States. The Anglican Church is the third largest denomination of Christians in the world.
