UP - Wellington's new gay newspaper has arrived

Thu 14 Nov 2002 In: New Zealand Daily News

A Wellington-based gay, bi-sexual, lesbian and transgender community newspaper has been launched. Called "Up" its publishers say they aim to provide "an informative, entertaining, exciting and fresh view about their lives and their community." UP's first edition will be available free in selected Capital venues and cafes from the 16th of November and will also be distributed to gay-friendly establishments in the Wellington region. “Within six issues we aim to have doubled the number of pages [initially 12] and increased the print-run," says one of Up`s tweo editors, Andrew Boreham. "This will enable us to distribute to other regions of the country including the South Island, Waikato, Taranaki and Hawkes Bay."
