New condom brand says it's width that matters

Wed 16 Dec 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News

A new condom brand is soon to hit New Zealand shelves and aims to provide a great option of widths to suit more men.   The German-made brand offers seven different condom sizes, with widths ranging from 47mm to 69mm and the brand has also released a penis measuring tape so men can find the correct fit. MySize say that wearing a condom that is too tight or too wide can be uncomfortable and is not as safe as a well fitted condom. Shaun Robinson of NZAF says discomfort with condoms could potentially have men not using them and wearing condoms incorrectly can lead to them breaking. “In fact, LYC is developing a ‘tool box’ soon precisely to address the issue of condom sizes, fit and comfort,” he says. “We know young men who have sex with men who use a condom during their first sexual encounter are twice as likely to continue to use condoms throughout the duration of their life so this Tool Box strives to ensure they experiment with different sized condoms and lube to find one that fits.” The MySize condoms will be stocked at selected New World supermarkets and pharmacies in the South Island and online.
