NZAF gives cautious welcome to condoms in jails

Fri 1 Nov 2002 In: New Zealand Daily News

The NZ AIDS Foundation is concerned that a pilot programme to trial condoms in prisons will not start until the middle next year. NZAF Director Kevin Hague has applauded the government's initiative to introduce condoms to protect the health of prisoners, but has queried the limited nature of the trial and the delay until June next year. The condoms will be distributed as part of a prisoner health scheme.
