A limited number of scholarships will be available for people who would otherwise be unable to participate in next year’s Proud: Re-stoke the Fires human rights and health conference. The ILGA Oceania Rainbow Human Rights and Health Conference aims to re-ignite the fires of the LGBTI community on issues of Human Rights and Health in the states of Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Melanesia and the Micronesian Islands. Scholarship recipients will be selected by a Committee, composed of ILGA Oceania Board Members. The committee aims for Pacific Islanders, Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders to be represented at the conference and are seeking a diverse range of people from the broader LGBTI communities. Priority will be given to active member groups of ILGA, especially those which contributed to the regional and / or international work of ILGA. Although most activists coming from Australia and New Zealand are unlikely to get a scholarship, those wishing to apply are encouraged to do so before December 18.
