Mon 7 Dec 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News

Openly gay DJ, Mike Puru, has quit his job as the morning host for The Edge radio station.   Having worked at The Edge radio station for 20 years, Puru says it is with a heavy heart that he moves on to pursue other things. In 2010 Puru came out live on air and says he will “never forget everyone’s support” when he made the announcement. “ You the listeners, have helped me through some tough times and celebrated the good times, I feel like you are all part of my family, so thanks for everything,” he said. He made a special thank you to his co-hosts of the morning show Jay-Jay and Dom.
