Website becomes 'LGBTI Wikipedia'

Sun 6 Dec 2015 In: International News View at Wayback

A new online LGBTI archive has launched and is being compared to ‘go-to’ website Wikipedia. The website collates the history of LGBTI people in the UK by curating information submitted by the public, a chance to preserve history that the website’s founder says is little known by LGBTI young people. “I created this site when I realised how little today’s younger LGBTI people knew about the struggle that won us our equalities and our freedoms,” said founder Jonathan Harbourne. Launched as part of LGBT History Project in 2011, the website now contains over 3600 articles including information regarding health, art and historic events.
