The manager of a Christchurch cruise club was assaulted in the early hours of Thursday morning. Police are currently on the hunt for two men who broke in the Christchurch men’s cruise club The Box and assaulted the club manager, sending him to hospital. Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Ford told stuff.co.nz that the club manager and a friend were in an upstairs flat in Manning Place only half an hour after closing time when they heard noises below and the manager went down to investigate. The two men he found inside the building attacked him, they are believed to have been attempting to steal from the premise. The Box manager was taken to hospital with bruising to his face. The men are said to be in their 20s. One of the men was in his late 20s, of Maori or Polynesian decent, 178 centimetres tall, stocky and was wearing a white beanie and hoody. The second man, in his early 20s, was also of Maori or Polynesian decent, is described as large, about 170cm and wearing black clothing.
