The deleted Love Actually lesbian scenes

Sun 29 Nov 2015 In: International News View at Wayback

It’s been revealed that everyone’s favourite Christmas romantic comedy originally featured a moving lesbian storyline that was cut from the final edit.   The cut scenes portrayed the love between the school’s headmistress played by Anne Reid, and her terminally ill partner Geraldine, played by Frances de la Tour and can be viewed on the in the extras of the latest Christmas edition DVD. Director Richard Curtis says he was disappointed to loose the scene: "The idea was meant to be you just casually met this very sort of stern headmistress...and the idea was meant to be that later on in the film we suddenly fell in with the headmistress and you realise that no matter how unlikely it seems, that any character that you come across in life has their own complicated tale of love.”
