West Auckland's Trusts Community Foundation has signed on as a significant supporter of February's Proud To Play glbti multi-sports festival. The distinctive Trusts Arena and nearby West Wave Pools will form one of the major hubs for the eleven-plus sports making up Proud To Play, with the Trusts Community Foundation granting $30,000 towards the cost of using the venues. Additionally, the operators of the Arena and the Pools "have also given us large discounts... without this amazing support the competition would not be possible," says Craig Watson of Proud to Play. Watson says the support "has allowed us to open registrations with lower than expected fees for participants in order to make the games accessible to everyone." "We are so thankful to them for their support," he adds. Registrations for the Proud To Play games which start in Auckland on February 13th can be made here. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time or expertise to help make Proud To Play a success should email info@proudtoplay.com. Donations towards expenses can be made here.
