A lesbian couple on a romantic getaway in Hawaii were arrested for kissing at a local supermarket and forced to spend three nights in jail. Courtney Wilson, 25, and Taylor Guerrero, 22 were on the island of Oahu in March when a kiss at the supermarket landed them in jail and facing a $12,000 bail each. A federal lawsuit has been filed against the Honolulu Police Department which notes the local police officer, Bobby Harrison approached the couple because he "observed their consensual romantic contact and, in a loud voice, ordered plaintiffs to stop and 'take it somewhere else.'" The lawsuit outlines that the couple complied and continued to shop but were later told they would be thrown out of the store because the officer allegedly witnessed them once again showing affection. Approaching the couple while they were in line waiting to pay, it is alleged that Harrison told them the store was going to bar them from the premises. Wilson is said to have pulled out her phone to call 911 when the officer grabbed her wrist and as partner Guerrero tried to intervene he threw her to the ground. "The whole situation got physical," Wilson tells the Huffington Post. "I got punched in the face by him.” The couple had to stay in Honolulu as a condition of their release and were forced to sleep in a park for a week as securing their release left them with no money. Police told The Associated Press that they have opened an internal investigation, Harrison currently remains on full active duty.
