Update: Two weeks after assault on Krd

Tue 20 Oct 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

Photographer and prominent community member, Tux Hika, was assaulted on Auckland’s K’rd two weeks ago in what he says was a completely unprovoked attack, the force of the hit left Hika with a broken nose and substantial bruising. A community call out attempting to identify the alleged attacker was put out and Hika says he has given the name of a person who some in the community believe is the man in the photographs, to the police but is yet to hear back regarding this. He says despite having given his statement to the police following the attack,  he believes an officer is yet to be assigned to the case. Hika says as it has been over two weeks since the assault occurred he is concerned that there will now be no chance of obtaining security footage from the night. Police have told GayNZ.com Daily News that they are currently still investigating the matter and will have more information when investigations have been concluded.
