Tue 20 Oct 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

This Thursday Wellington Rainbow Labour Branch is hosting a fundraising event for the queer and trans youth support organisation InsideOUT.   An exciting evening of slam poetry and amazing performances, the fundraising event will also have a wine raffle on the night. InsideOUT are a national support organisation providing resources, education, information and support to young people who are wanting to set up and maintain queer straight diversity groups in their schools. The organisation also runs and supports awareness campaigns like the Day of Silence and Pink Shirt Day. National Coordinator of InsideOUT, Tabby Besley says "It makes such a difference when people give their time and skills to fundraise for us - it means we can put more energy into doing our work and it makes our team feel valued and supported by the community.                 "InsideOUT is currently developing a couple of resources to help make our schools safer for young people of diverse sexualities, sexes and genders so the money raised from a Paper Rainbows will be a huge help in enabling us to get those out to schools and communities," she says.                         Tickets are $10 unwaged and $20 waged and cash sales will be available at the door. Anyone interested in fundraising for InsideOUT they can get in touch at hello@insideout.org.nz                                 Meow Bar | Wellington | Thursday 22 October, 7pm
