Police have released the name of the Christchurch gay man who died on Wednesday night after a car being driven the wrong way up a one way street collided with the car he was in last Saturday. Michael Burnby (left) and Tony Tucker [Image: Facebook] Michael James Burnby died due to injuries sustained in the crash. It is understood Burnby's life support machine was turned off early Wednesday evening. His husband Tony Tucker remains in critical condition in Christchurch Hospital. He is said to have some arm and leg movement and is recognising visitors. The pair has had a high profile amongst the Christchurch glbti community with Tucker being involved for many years in the hospitality scene including Ministry and gay venue Cruz. A cross, flowers and a picture of Burnby were placed at the roadside on Salisbury Street near Durham Street on Wednesday night.
