Pride Fest announces community forums

Auckland Pride Festival Inc will hold forums this month and next month to give the community a chance to have its say on the event. Dykes on Bikes in the Auckland Pride Parade It’s part of a pledge it made earlier in the year to increase its channels for community feedback. Both forums will be held at Studio One in Ponsonby. The first will be on Tuesday 20 October from 6.30pm until 8.30pm and the second on Saturday 14 November from 2pm until 4pm. The Pride teams says the information-sharing sessions will be an opportunity for the community to learn more about the inner-workings of the festival, sign up for volunteer duty as well as offering feedback and suggestions for the future. The forums are open to the public, but people are asked to RSVP so Pride has an idea of numbers. Anyone who wishes to attend is asked to email info@aucklandpridefestival.org.nz at least 48 hours before the forum they want to attendThe 2016 Auckland Pride Festival will run from 5-28 February.
