Lesbian history walks in Auckland

Lesbian history will be celebrated at the Auckland Heritage Festival this year, with the first event taking place this Saturday, 26 September. The Lesbian Heritage Walk is a free event which will take you on a guided tour from Ponsonby to the Civic highlighting places of lesbian historic interest along the way. The group will meet at the corner of Ponsonby Road and Collingwood Street at 3pm and the walk will take approximately 2 hours. The second event on Saturday 10 October is the Freda Stark Heritage Walk which will start from the University of Auckland library and make it’s way downtown before heading to the Civic also starting at 3pm and going until 5pm.
