Tauranga murder suspect charged

Sun 18 Aug 2002 In: New Zealand Daily News

A 34 year old Auckland man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing murder of a Tauranga gay man. John Rogers was found stabbed near public toilets in a Tauranga domain earlier this month. The probable murder weapon, a long carving-type knife, was found nearby. It is speculated that Rogers had been cruising the toilets which have been a popular late night hook up spot in Tauranga for some years. The unnamed man charged with the murder will appear in court tomorrow (Monday).
