Two gay policemen have married in Spain, in full uniform. Chema and Jonathan tied the knot in Jerez de la Frontera. They met while serving on the force together and have been a couple for five years. "We are not the first gays in the police, we have lots of gay friends in the force," Chema has told Spanish radio station, Canal Sur Radio. "If it helps someone who is being bullied in school for their sexual orientation to see it as something normal, then that’s great. It’s not something that should be hidden just because you belong to a particular institution.” The couple will travel in the US for their honeymoon. Same-sex marriage has been legal in Spain since 2005.
