A number of groups have banded together to create video teaching resources which they hope educators will use to help reduce homophobic and transphobic bullying. You can view and download the videos and the resource packs here Inside Out (not to be confused with the queer-straight alliance group with the same name) is a collaborative project between RainbowYOUTH, Core Education, the University of Auckland and Curative, with funding from the Social Development Ministry. Young people have also taken part in the project, along with a panel of educational experts. Episode 1 - Gender, Sex and Sexuality from Inside Out on Vimeo. The videos are all about encouraging people to relate to others positively, especially when it comes to sex, gender and sexual diversity. They deconstruct the norms that create homophobic and transphobic attitudes. The resources have been split into two formats, so they appropriate for children and teens in school years 7-8 and 9-13. Episode 4 - Bullying and Homophobia/Transphobia from Inside Out on Vimeo. The resource for year 7-8 students focuses mainly on gender identity. For year 9-13, the resource expands to include content about sexual identities. The guide is written for educators, but has also been designed for other adults working to support sex, gender and sexual diversity with children and young people.
