The Remarkables skifield this morning As GaySkiWeekQT prepares to kick off this weekend the skiing and adventure holiday resort of Queenstown has excellent ski conditions and more snow is predicted to fall in the coming days. Hundreds of glbti skiers and party people from around the country and from overseas - particularly Australia - attend the event every year. All ski fields associated with the GaySkiWeekQT are open with plenty of good snow. As of today Coronet Peak has an average 120cm and up to 165 cm in places. The Remarkables has an average of 137cm and up to 160cm deep. Over the hill, Cardrona has an impressive 147cm average depth with a whopping 235cm on the higher runs. Conditions are good and chains are not needed at those fields at this stage. As a result, GaySkiWeekQT co-organiser Sally Whitewoods says, the area's having "the best winter skiing season for years... and tickets are selling well for our week of glbti-themed events scheduled between this Saturday night and the following Saturday August 5th."
