Runners challenged to join NZAF team

Mon 24 Aug 2015 In: New Zealand Daily News View at Wayback

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation is looking for more runners to join its Auckland Marathon team, to help raise more cash to share the stories of people living with HIV in New Zealand. It’s hoping to raise $15,000 to help promote its More than HIV video series. The campaign was produced in collaboration with Positive Women to tell stories of people living with HIV in an effort to reduce stigma and discrimination in New Zealand. “The stories acknowledge that HIV exists in our communities. Having honest conversations about experiences of HIV is vital in keeping each other safe and supported in our communities. We recognise HIV-related stigma for what it is – a significant challenge in responding to HIV in New Zealand, yet it is often cloaked in silence,” the NZAF says. You can sign up for the NZAF marathon team here
